There's very few story-lines that grow from there. The further Saints Row gets away from both reality and Grand Theft Auto, the better it gets. And not worth really playing if you've already enjoyed the sequels. Available on Xbox 360, PS3 (reviewed), PC.
The whole game felt rushed, like they where really trying to capitalize on being the only game in town at that time. Mind you the original has a lot more room for improvement.ĮDIT: Saints Row 1's biggest mistake is that it tried to fill the void when we didn't have a modern GTA game on 360 and Playstation 3. I agree with Playa, if they remaster 1 they should definately fix up 2. Even the ludicrous immaturity has it's moments where you can't help but smile. 3-4 are pretty much just packaged ♥♥♥♥ and fart jokes, but for some reason the gameplay remains incredibly entertaining. Saints Row 2 was the perfect blend of gang actions and tomfoolery. The rest of series are all pretty solid 7/10 games. Even the fastest cars feel anchored down and slow for some reason. But technical issues, bugs, and many more little frustrations conspire to make this a middling experience at launch. That was one aspect that really hasn't changed from game to game. Inverse (6/10) This new entry feels like a back-to-basics reboot.
The first felt very clunky and there was almost no customization options. For me the series didn't really take off until Saints Row 2.
